PUMP OUT PLUG WITHOUT MULE

The Pump-Out Plug, Product No- WC-20126 has been used as a tubing plugging device against which pressure may be applied in order to set various hydraulic Packers & Liner Hangers.

The Pump-Out Ball Seat Sub is made up in the tail pipe below the packer or hanger and a trapping ball is dropped through to seat in the sub. Pressure is then applied to set the packer or Liner hanger.

Once the product is set, tubing pressure is increased to values as shown in the chart below to shear the screws holding the ball seat in the sub. The ball and ball seat are blown out of the sub to the bottom of the well.

Any tubing run below the Ball Seat Sub should have sufficient ID clearance to permit passage of the ball and ball seat.

A Ball catcher sub would be connected at its bottom to catch the ball and sheared out ball seat.
